Other than the fact that it's one of the easiest languages I've ever tried to
learn,
PHP is also one of the most useful,
especially since I love doing web design. Though I make my living writing PHP
code for
Silicon Mechanics, I've
also tried to contribute some help to the open source community. What you see
below is what I've had time to package and release.
- Click the link to go to my mythtv page and learn more.
- This is by no means my project, but I figured I'd mention it here
because I've contributed some code, and hope to contribute more.
- A drop-in photo album script that supports automatic
thumbnail creation, and on-the-fly resizing. Honestly, I finally
set up gallery and it's easier to
deal with, and has more than enough features, that I have stopped
working on this program. The code is left in case anyone wants to look
at it. I think that maybe someday I'll create a little instant-thumbnail
generator to drop in a directory of images I don't really want to put into
a gallery, but for now, this is what I have.
cooktools
- This new project of mine is intended to be a recipe database. I looked
around for a good open source recipe database and couldn't find anything
worthy (eg. comparable to recipezaar.com
or allrecipes.com). I'd use one
of the public recipe archives, but I really just want to keep a small
database of my favorite recipes (some of which are copyrighted to other
people, etc.), and not give up any rights to my own inventions. If you're
interested in helping out with this project, please let me know.
brewtools
- A homebrewing assistant module for cooktools.
Feel I've done something worthy of a reward?
I have a wishlist.
